You’ve heard me say it before, and here goes again: paint is the most inexpensive way to update your home decor. And it goes way beyond walls.
I’m not afraid to paint anything, I’ve tackled numerous projects over the years from furniture pieces to speaker grills and when somebody tells me it won’t work it just challenges me to prove them wrong!

The key is (1) to prepare the item properly and (2) to use the appropriate paint. Don’t be afraid – just be prepared. I did a makeover on my night stand a few years ago and am still ecstatic with the results.

It went from cherry stain to dramatic black in just a few days. And I did it right inside my home! (Note the plastic dropcloth to protect the floor!)

The finish is still perfect, the black is timeless and will continue to work with any colour scheme I may choose in the future.
On a softer note, what do you think of my colour choice for the current Welcome Center ensuite vanity? It’s Benjamin Moore’s Raindance and I love the change up from dark espresso that is often used for bathroom cabinets.

If you’ve tackled a DIY paint project recently I’d love to see the results, and if you haven’t yet, here’s the confidence you need to make it happen. I know you can do it just like me!
