Step inside my head for just a moment as I assemble inspiration photos for my latest commercial project. Just like residential projects, I begin with a few inspiration photos that jump-start the concept for me, and it just kind of takes off from there.

But being an interiors professional isn’t just about letting your creative run wild.

It’s about form and function and scale, and a hundred other elements that are imperative to great design. My formal training and my discerning eye work together to create interiors that are a reflection of my individual clients’ lifestyle or workstyle, as well as the architecture of the dwelling.

Those of us who work in creative fields find our inspiration in many places, and often it appears out of nowhere. And when it’s right we just know it. As I write this I realize it’s hard to explain in a few sentences because it’s a lot about the feeling. It’s a wow moment followed quickly by a gut feeling that says – this is it! And then everything falls into place easily.

It always amazes me.
